New York Defeats Los Angeles, 2-1
|
The New York Yankees earned a close win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, thanks in part to Haniel De Frias. The New York right-hander, who is tied for 5th in the AL with a 1.01 WHIP, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. The win makes New York 35-24.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ben Bland? The New York center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Yankees on top, 1-0. For the game, Bland had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"It was a hard game, a hard night," said Los Angeles skipper Vinny Pennell.
