Braves Collect 7-5 Win Versus New York A (DSL)
The Atlanta (DSL) Braves withstood a fine game by New York A (DSL) first baseman Luis Lara at New York Yankees Complex, to upend the Yankees, 7-5. Lara went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jon Pientka recorded the save, his 6th. With the victory, the Braves upped their record to 17-11.

Mike McAuliffe provided a timely hit. The Atlanta (DSL) pinch hitter delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Braves on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"They beat us fair and square," New York A (DSL) skipper William Penniall said.
