Padres Absorb 10-5 Home Loss
|
The Cincinnati Reds downed the San Diego Padres, 10-5, at Petco Park. The Reds were led by Tommy Kulick. Kulick was 3-5 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Chris Pinkerton earned the win for Cincinnati. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 8-1. With the win, the Reds improved to 26-24.
In the top of the seventh, the Reds grabbed the lead when Kulick hit his 9th double of the season. The 2-run double off Marc Earl made it 6-4, Cincinnati.
Kulick said, "Whether you hit the ball hard, you walk, you have a long at-bat, 10 or 12 pitches, or you hit a homer, you're just trying to do anything you can do to help the team win."
