Hall Socks It to Nationals, Cracks 5 Hits
|
Even as a kid, Danny Hall said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At New York Yankees Complex, Hall showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 21-year-old center fielder had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the New York A (DSL) Yankees, helping his team knock off the Washington (DSL) Nationals by a score of 15-1.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."
Danny Hall singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jonathan Oliver in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Frank Vega in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Frank Vega in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Hall currently has a .300 batting average with 18 hits, 6 homers, 19 RBIs, 17 runs scored and a .436 OBP.
