Orioles Tagged with 9-4 Loss
|
The Miami Marlins picked up a win at loanDepot Park, knocking off the Baltimore Orioles, 9-4. On the mound for Miami was right-hander Sergio Cabral. He played a key role in the triumph. Cabral yielded 4 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 1-1. The last-place Marlins bumped their record to 15-25.
Jackson Holliday had a big grand slam home run for the Marlins in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Miami trailing 3-2 and the bases loaded, he sized up a changeup from 28-year old left-handed pitcher Bryce Navarre and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Marlins on top, 6-3.
Miami manager Angel Espada commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
