Angels Win Close Shave, 3-2
|
The Los Angeles A (ACL) Angels had to overcome a big game from San Francisco (ACL) second baseman Joey Fritz to leave Scottsdale Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 3-2, in 10 innings. Fritz went 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Los Angeles A (ACL) reliever Ciriaco Castillo was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Jesus Olivo took the loss. Jimmy Gantner closed it out for Los Angeles A (ACL), earning his 10th save.
Nate Bennett delivered a big hit for Los Angeles A (ACL). The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Angels ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Russ Handy, the Los Angeles A (ACL) skipper. "This one tested us."
Los Angeles A (ACL) bumps their record to 20-22 with the win.
