Contreras Goes Off, But Sod Poodles Win
The Amarillo Sod Poodles withstood an impressive performance by Midland catcher Jesus Contreras to defeat the RockHounds, 12-10, at Momentum Bank Ballpark. Contreras was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Amarillo, at 61-67, sits in 4th place in the South Division.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the top of the sixth. That's when Sod Poodles third baseman Sergio Campos hit a sinker from Juan Blanco for a 2-run single. Just like that, Amarillo was up, 7-6.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Campos.
