Selman Blisters Fort Wayne
|
The 5th time was not the charm for Shane Selman today.
The right fielder for the Lansing Lugnuts hit the milestone today at Parkview Field, but it was the Fort Wayne TinCaps that salvaged a 11-10 victory. Selman finished with a 5-for-6 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough.
"He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Fort Wayne manager Jon Mathews said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win."
Selman declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one."
Shane Selman singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Fred Schlichtholz in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a three-run home run off Connor Jones in the 11th.
Posting a .220 batting average to date, Selman has 5 home runs and 11 RBIs.
