Great Stroke: Jimenez Gets 5 Hits
|
No matter what the Aberdeen Ironbirds threw at him, Gilberto Jimenez hit it. He easily handled Ironbirds pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Drive triumph, 5-3, at Fluor Field at the West End.
"The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Jimenez's quip, Ironbirds skipper Roberto Mercado said he "would take him up on that next time."
Gilberto Jimenez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
To date this year, Jimenez is batting .388 with 3 home runs.
