Hit Parade: Acosta Pops 5 Hits
|
Frisco shortstop Maximo Acosta had a big day at Dr. Pepper Ballpark today against the Tulsa Drillers. The 21-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the RoughRiders to a 15-0 triumph over Tulsa.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Acosta said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Maximo Acosta singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Kendall Williams in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This season Acosta has hit 16 home runs and posted a .275 batting average.
