Bagwell Stars in 7-5 Loss to St. Louis
Jeff Bagwell had a good game, but he could not keep the Houston Astros from falling, 7-5, to the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The Houston first baseman hit 2 home runs in the loss. Michael Jackson converted his 28th save in 36 tries. Houston's current losing streak is now 4 games.

St. Louis took a 6-5 lead on Sandy Alomar Jr.'s 13th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Alomar Jr. hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Houston pitcher Cam Spence visibly frustrated.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Alomar Jr.. "And not try to do too much."
