Devil Rays Get Thrilling 5-4 Win
The Tampa Bay Devil Rays did just enough to secure a victory over the New York Yankees, 5-4, in 11 innings at Tropicana Field. Nobody did more than designated hitter Rex Hudler. The Devil Rays now have a record of 73-79.

Tampa Bay got a critical at-bat from Quinton McCracken. The second baseman stroked a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was huge.

Hudler told reporters after the game: "This one was touch and go, but we were able to put it in the win column."
