Marquez on Fire: 5-for-5 for Malibu Thursday, July 13th , 2017 The Malibu Rums stopped the Lake County Captains by a score of 7-5 at Crocs Grounds, with the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder Ricardo Marquez. The 22-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Marquez said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Marquez did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Captains. "Not much that I can say," offered Lake County manager Aaron Cummings. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Ricardo Marquez hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off David Estrada in the 9th. Thus far this season, Marquez is hitting .249 with 4 home runs, 25 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 42 hits in 169 at-bats and has played in 56 games. |
