Win Lifts Mermen to 94-62
|
Sao Paulo had no answer for St. Lucia Mermen starter Mike Sutton, who flummoxed Black Mambas hitters as the Mermen cruised to victory, 6-1. The second-place Mermen raised their record to 94-62.
St. Lucia took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, Shogo Kanzaki stroked a 2-run single to make it 3-1, Mermen.
In comments to the St. Lucia Chronicle, Kanzaki admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
