Spiders Turn Back St. Lucia, 6-4

Cleveland beat St. Lucia in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Cleveland Spiders defeated the St. Lucia Mermen, 6-4, in Northern League action at The Web. Mike Hughes pulled his weight. The 8-year veteran went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. Dennis Edwards recorded the save, his 24th.
In the bottom of the sixth, Cleveland second baseman Sean McComas put his team on top. With two out and the bases loaded, he hit his 19th double of the year. St. Lucia pitcher Mike Sutton served it up. Just like that, the Spiders were ahead, 5-4.
"We're all smiles after that win," McComas told the Cleveland Chronicle.
Cleveland, at 75-71, holds down second place in the Northern League Great White North.
