Sotelo Goes Deep Twice in 9-8 Mermen Win
The St. Lucia Mermen powered past the Dubai Bedouins, 9-8, at Pitons Park. Victor Sotelo provided some of the pop. Slick Vic hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Zhuo-cheng Leong was the winner. Over 7 innings, he yielded 1 run on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. The Mermen have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 4th win in 12 games.

With St. Lucia leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Sotelo hit a fastball from Jay Yanchek for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Mermen ahead, 3-0.

"I don't care about style points," Sotelo said. "I only care about winning."
