YO (Ni-Gun) Gets 8-2 Win Against Dragons
|
The YO (Ni-Gun) Giants and CH (Ni-Gun) Dragons completed their game despite the rain.
The exploits of catcher Shizuya Oda, the 11th overall pick in the 2023 draft, helped the YO (Ni-Gun) Giants defeat the CH (Ni-Gun) Dragons, 8-2. Oda went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Picking up the save was 26-year old left-handed pitcher Ryusei Oe.
The Giants got a big boost from left fielder Takumaru Yaoita who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Dragons hurler Shintaro Fujinami. It was his 3rd walk of the season and put YO (Ni-Gun) on top, 1-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Yaoita.
The win puts YO (Ni-Gun) at 1-1.
