The YDNA BayStars picked up a win at Mazda Zoom-Zoom Stadium, downing the HT Carp, 6-2. On the mound for YDNA was right-hander Hidefumi Sugahara, who played a pivotal role in the win. The 5th-place BayStars now have a win-loss record of 18-25.

YDNA used the hitting of Kota Ishibashi to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the BayStars on top, 5-2. For the game, Ishibashi had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Ishibashi told a YDNA Daily reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
