Golden Eagles Earn Clutch Win, 2-1
|
The TR Golden Eagles had to overcome a fine effort from OR pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto to win, 2-1, in 10 innings at Kyocera Dome Osaka. Yamamoto went 6 innings and allowed no runs. TR pitcher Takahiro Norimoto got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Rubby De La Rosa got the loss. The Golden Eagles, now 3-1, have been playing some good baseball.
TR used the timely hitting of Kiyoharu Sawano to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Golden Eagles on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Said Sawano: "It's just one win, but it feels like more when you outlast a tough opponent."
