Thunderbirds Spank Grandserows, 12-1
|
The Jeonju Thunderbirds pasted the Changwon Grandserows with a convincing 12-1 defeat at Nagano Olympic Stadium. Tadayuki Kaneko was a prime factor in the Jeonju win. He went 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Motoya Kinoshita, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-0. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and no runs, while striking out 8 and walking 1. The Grandserows drop to 9-13 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2025 season.
Making an impact for Jeonju was designated hitter Masatoshi Okamura. He drilled a double off Yasugi Higashi in the top of the fourth. For the game, Okamura went 3-5 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 3.
Said Changwon manager Susumu Kaneda: "It was a long, miserable day."
