Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the SS Lions and OR Buffaloes.

In a close game at Kyocera Dome Osaka, the SS Lions edged the OR Buffaloes, 5-4. SS second baseman Junichiro Kishi stood apart with his performance. He was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Keisuke Honda recorded his 1st save for SS.

Had Kishi not come through in the top of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Kishi hit a run-scoring single. The Lions took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.

"We squandered some opportunities," said OR manager Kyle Davies.

The Buffaloes fall to 9-11 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2025 season.
