Marsh K's 11 En Route to 2-1 Braves Win
|
In a tightly-contested game between the Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets, pitcher Alec Marsh was outstanding. The Atlanta right-hander, who is tied for 4th in the NL in wins with 12, propelled his team's 2-1 win. Tristan Beck was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 15 save opportunities. This loss makes it 8 in a row for New York.
Marsh, who leaned on his fastball, allowed 1 run on just 3 hits over 7 innings for the Braves. For the most part, New York hitters were simply overmatched.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said New York manager Larry Langellier.
