New York Stymied by Milwaukee, 2-0
|
In a tight affair between the Milwaukee Brewers and the New York Mets, pitcher Justin Steele was in the zone. The Milwaukee left-hander helped his team win the game, 2-0. Milwaukee, at 69-49, is 5½ games up in the National League Central Division.
The Brewers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Christian Yelich. For the game, Yelich was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 14th double of the season gave Milwaukee a 1-0 lead.
"Every time I step on the mound, I want to go out there and compete and bring my best game," said Steele.
