Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds.

The Chicago Cubs picked up a win at Wrigley Field, knocking off the Cincinnati Reds, 10-7. Starting pitcher Cody Bradford was a big reason why. Luis Gil earned the save, his 13th, for the Cubs.

The Reds had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Cubs going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old center fielder Colton Cowser came to the plate. Cowser hit a run-scoring double on a 1-2 slider from Cincinnati hurler Alex Wood. It was Cowser's 11th double of the year.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Cowser.

Chicago has a record of 34-25, placing them second in the National League Central Division.
