Red Sox Earn Clutch Win, 3-2
|
Baltimore got a terrific performance from pitcher Tarik Skubal, but it wasn't enough to beat the Boston Red Sox. Boston won the Fenway Park contest, 3-2. Skubal threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Boston reliever Kevin Ginkel picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Tanner Scott took the loss. The win gives Boston a season record of 28-25.
Boston got a knockout punch from Nick Castellanos. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Sometimes you get the ball in the right spot and it goes," said Castellanos.
