Hits Galore: Safari Drills 5 Hits
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Ghumer Safari as he led the charge to a nifty 6-5 win over the Vipers. The Perth third baseman was pure misery for the Accra pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Safari put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said David Legarda, manager for the Vipers, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Ghumer Safari doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.
Safari is currently batting .319 with 4 home runs, 20 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He has 67 hits in 210 at-bats.
