Bitok Tags Honkers for 5 Hits
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Bangalore Warlocks center fielder Okot Bitok, but a tough one for the team, as the Warlocks dropped the contest, 7-5, to the The Hague Honkers.
Even with the loss, Bitok was pure misery for the The Hague pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-6 in an explosive display of hitting.
"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Bitok, who is the 22-year old center fielder .
"Bitok really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Honkers manager Rodion Zmyzgov told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Okot Bitok grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, tripled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
So far on the season, Bitok is hitting .381 with no home runs, 7 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 16 hits and played in 10 games.
