Rio Gets 1-0 Win
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Rio Macaws and the Santo Domingo Bachateros, two-time All-Star Vasilii Feschenko was the difference-maker. The Rio left-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Feschenko picked up the win for Rio, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 11-7. Earning his 23rd save for Rio was Alois Klammer.
The Macaws got a big at-bat from left fielder Untung Adjeng. For the game, Adjeng went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Rio a 1-0 lead.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Adjeng said.
By defeating Santo Domingo, the 4th-place Macaws improved to 69-66.
