Angels Prevail, as Wildcard Series Goes to the Wire
|
The Hanoi S A Angels and Riyadh S A Bighorns put on a classic Wildcard Series that was in question until the final game.
In the end, Hanoi S A won the deciding contest by a score of 5-2, to take the series 3-2.
"It doesn't get much tighter than that. To win a series in the last game is a thrill," said Palla Sonia, who earned series MVP honors for Hanoi S A. "Our guys are breathing a little easier now."
For the series, Sonia hit .450 with a .455 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Hanoi S A Angels don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Lima S A Diablos - Cairo S A Corsairs series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes.
