The Havana Pirates defeated the Cusco Jaguars, 8-4. First Baseman An Dang deserved a large share of the credit. Dang went 1 for 2 with 2 walks and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times for the Pirates. The win went to Gabriel Juarez in relief, making him now 2-2. Joel Mouland took the loss for Cusco. Havana has run its win streak to 5 consecutive.
The result might have been different, had it not been for three-time All-Star Delano Kruize. Kruize had a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pirates ahead, 6-4. For the game, Kruize had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Dang.
