Johns Gets 5 Hits Monday, June 21st , 2027 New York N (FCL) Mets third baseman Danny Johns banged out 5 hits, but it was not enough to keep his club from succumbing to the Washington (FCL) Nationals, 13-11. He went 5-for-6 and raised his batting average a few points. "If the hits keep coming," an upbeat Johns said after the game, "the runs will too. And, more importantly, so will the wins." Danny Johns singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Edgar Valverde in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
