3-HR Game for Pendergrass Wednesday, July 8th , 2026 Fans seated in the bleacher section at Veterans Memorial Stadium were taking cover all day long as Dariyan Pendergrass zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power. The big game from the Cedar Rapids center fielder helped the Kernels take the victory, 11-4, over the Quad Cities River Bandits. "I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing." For the game, he collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 3 runs. Dariyan Pendergrass hit a two-run home run off Nate Ackenhausen in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Nate Ackenhausen in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Mauricio Veliz in the 4th, walked in the 6th and singled in the 8th. So far this season, Pendergrass is hitting .361 with 6 home runs. |
