Waldschmidt Launches 3 HR for Aces
Thursday, July 30th , 2026
Hitting three home runs in a game is usually something to celebrate, but there was no celebration to be found at Greater Nevada Field after the hitting barrage from Ryan Waldschmidt. The Reno Aces dropped the contest, 10-6, to the Tacoma Rainiers, leaving Waldschmidt with only a historical footnote as consolation.
Ryan is blessed with a natural home run swing so he gets the ball up in the air real quickly," Reno manager Michael Leblanc said after the loss. "It's just a shame we couldn't win the game, too. I'm sure it spoils the day a little for him."
Along with putting three in the stands, Waldschmidt went 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," he told reporters after the game. "Mostly you'll fail if you really try to hit one, but today I tried on the last one."
Ryan Waldschmidt flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Grant Knipp in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Troy Taylor in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Brady Feigl in the 8th.
This year, Waldschmidt has collected a .258 batting average to date with 56 hits in 217 at-bats, 42 RBIs, 17 home runs and scored 45 times. He has played in 54 games.
