Streak Finally Over, Clark Held Hitless
Wednesday, August 23rd , 2028
Max Clark saw his 24-game hitting streak wither and die during the Toledo Mud Hens win over Iowa at Fifth Third Ballpark. The 23-year-old center fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Iowa Cubs, but his teammates produced enough offense to win the game, 5-2.

"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Clark told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 24 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."

For the year, Clark is batting .343 with 29 home runs, 100 RBIs and 104 runs scored.
