Rowdy Players Suspended by League Saturday, August 26th , 2028 Yesterday at Progressive Field Emmanuel Rodriguez and Paul Skenes got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardians. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Rodriguez will have to sit out 4 while Skenes would be given a 8-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This year, Rodriguez is hitting .255 with 27 home runs and 77 RBIs in 131 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .369 with 74 walks and 73 runs scored. Checking out his stats for the season, Skenes has notched 13 wins and 7 losses in 28 starts. His ERA is 2.54 and he's struck out 175 batters in 159.1 innings. |
