The Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 4-3, in American League action at Minute Maid Park. Houston pitcher Framber Valdez had a standout performance. The win belonged to Josh Hader in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Stone Hewlett took the loss for Los Angeles. Houston, with the win, is 17-8.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Houston first baseman Willi Castro, facing Stone Hewlett, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Astros the 4-3 win.

"Framber did a nice job," said Astros manager Fredi Gonzalez.
