Braves Collect 9-3 Win Versus Cincinnati
|
The 9-3 Atlanta win over Cincinnati was due in large part to Heliot Ramos. The Braves left fielder was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Blake Burkhalter, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. Aaron Bummer recorded the save for Atlanta, his 2nd of the season.
Anthony Volpe came through with a big-time hit for Atlanta. The shortstop smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"No time for posing," said Volpe. "The next game will be here before you know it."
The win puts Atlanta at 12-11.
