Yankees Lose at Home, 6-3
|
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, knocking off the New York Yankees, 6-3. Starting pitcher Braxton Garrett played a key role in the triumph. Edwin Nunez earned the save for Toronto, his 4th. The Blue Jays, with just their 7th win in 23 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Toronto used the clutch hitting of Carson Kelly to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 6-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Kelly. "I think we showed that here."
