The Cleveland Guardians topped the Detroit Tigers, 5-1, with third baseman Jose Ramirez playing a big role. Ramirez went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Guardians in the win. Jackson Ferris notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. The Tigers drop to 5-8, as their fitful start to the 2028 campaign continues.

Ramirez had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 changeup from Ty Madden, he banged a run-scoring double to left-center, giving the Guardians a 2-1 lead. It was the 2nd double of the year for Ramirez.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ramirez. "And not try to do too much."
