Miami right fielder Yunior Garcia had 7 ribbies while helping his team defeat the New York Mets, 7-0. Max Meyer got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 6.2 innings. The loss lowers the New York record to 2-8.

There was more than one reason the Marlins beat the Mets, but Garcia's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said New York manager Todd Cole.
