Guardians Pocket 3-2 Win Against New York
|
The Cleveland Guardians defeated the New York Yankees by the score of 3-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to shortstop Anthony Volpe. Volpe was 2-3 with a home run and a walk for the Guardians on the day. Picking up the save was Jervis Alfaro, his 3rd. The loss puts New York at 6-4.
Making an impact for the home team was James Tibbs. In the bottom of the fourth, the 26-year old left fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 3-0, Guardians.
"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Volpe said. "And the same is true when you lose."
