Nationals Win, 3-1, at Atlanta
|
Washington and Atlanta played a hard-fought contest.
The Washington Nationals went home winners at Truist Park, thanks in large part to starter Brandon Pfaadt. Pfaadt stifled the Atlanta Braves, enabling Washington to grab the 3-1 win. The winner was Pfaadt. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Spencer Schwellenbach. Cole Henry notched his 1st save of the season.
Washington won the game in part because of Brady House. The third baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Nationals ahead, 3-0. For the game, House had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I thought we played some darn good baseball," said Nationals manager Winston Abreu.
With the win, Washington elevates its record to 1-2.
