The Boston Red Sox defeated the Tampa Bay Rays, 4-2, at Tropicana Field. Boston was led by slugging shortstop Willy Adames, who was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Tyson Neighbors was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Boston goes to 1-1.

Triston Casas came through with a big-time hit for Boston. The designated hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Casas.
