|
In a low-scoring game between the Chicago White Sox and the Minnesota Twins, pitcher Noah Schultz was masterful on the mound. The Chicago left-hander spearheaded his team's 2-0 win. The winning pitcher was Schultz, now 9-11. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 9. Picking up the save was Pierce George, his 32nd.
Chicago used a well-timed hit by Jacob Gonzalez to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the White Sox ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Noah pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Chicago manager John Novak.
The second-place White Sox are 89-73.
