Washington Tags New York with 7-1 Defeat
|
New York had no answer for Washington Nationals starter Sean Manaea, who flummoxed Mets hitters as the Nationals cruised to victory, 7-1. The second-place Nationals improved to 85-76.
Washington used a big swing from Brady House to get the win. The third baseman walloped a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Nationals up, 6-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.
"What's not to like about a win?" said House.
