Giants Top Rockies, 4-1, Behind Webb
|
San Francisco pitcher Logan Webb had a large part in his team subduing the Colorado Rockies, 4-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Carlos Estevez was credited with the save, his 23rd in 29 tries. San Francisco's record now stands at 71-88, placing them last in the National League West Division.
Webb's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 5 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 2 hits. Webb, who leads the NL in innings pitched with 239.2, goes to 13-9 on the year with 198 strikeouts.
"That was a really good outing by Logan," said San Francisco manager Robert Berns.
