De La Cruz Clubs 2 Home Runs in 9-5 Cincinnati Win
A good performance from first baseman Elly De La Cruz helped the Cincinnati Reds defeat the Chicago Cubs, 9-5. De La Cruz went 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Reds. Brock Porter, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Cubs to 2 runs on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. The win elevated the Reds to 76-74.
