Reds Suffer 7-5 Home Defeat
|
The Milwaukee Brewers had to overcome a big game from Cincinnati catcher Carson Kelly to leave Great American Ball Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-5. Kelly went 3-4 with a home run and a double. Joel Payamps earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 5-2. Devin Williams picked up the save, his 33rd.
Rhys Hoskins helped out the Milwaukee cause in the top of the seventh inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1-1 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I still think this team can play even better," Hoskins told the Milwaukee News.
The third-place Reds dropped to 70-69.
