Blue Jays Deal Marlins 4-3 Loss
|
The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Miami Marlins, 4-3. Toronto pitcher and Miami, Florida, native Carlos Rodriguez led the way. In 7 innings, Rodriguez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. The victory puts Toronto at 46-90.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Wade Shelley to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Miami skipper Randy Choate, "and it cost us."
