The Chicago Cubs defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 7-3, at Wrigley Field. Chicago was led by 25-year old catcher Pablo Aliendo, who hit 2 home runs. At 67-63, the Cubs find themselves in second place in the National League Central Division.

The Cubs got a big at-bat from left fielder Ian Happ. For the game, Happ went 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 22nd home run of the season gave Chicago a 5-2 lead.

Happ called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
